Mammogram NSV

Today I went for my yearly mammo.  Let's face it, no one likes to do it, but we must do it.  Anyway, as the tech was getting me all situated,  she noticed that I had lost weight.  Mind you, I have only seen this woman one time before, so I did not expect her to remember me.  I told her how much I have lost and asked her how she knew.  She said by looking at my last screening, she could see that I had much less" mass. "  Okay, so maybe not a good nsv in that respect, but she said it is much easier to do the test and they can see a lot better when there is not so much fat.

I have never had big boobs and I never will.  That is okay with me as long as I know they can see any possible cancer early...God forbid!

So ladies, just another great thing to come from weight loss  Please make sure you go for your mammogram this year!

6 small meals or only 3? WWYD?

My surgeon recommends I eat only 3 meals a day with no snacks in between.  I am beginning to have some issues with not eating anything for 4-6 hours and then eating too much at meals.  I think I am missing chewing or just tasting food.  I can't say that I am hungry very often, but I want to eat!  I had surgery 9 months ago and losing weight seems to be getting harder.

I am thinking about eating 1/2 c of food 5-6 times a day.  Right now I eat 1c 3X a day.  I think my metabolism is not working like it should.  I have about 25 pounds left to lose and my body doesn't want to let it go!  I am hoping that by eating little meals throughout the day, I won't snack or get bored and look for crap to eat.  I am still exercising 4-5 times a week. I am now incorporating strength training.  Maybe that will kick my metabolism into gear.

I would love any suggestions, please!

My son is engaged!

Nicole ArquillaI am so excited to announce the engagement of my son, Marcus and his fiance' Nicole!  They are both very successful in their careers, he is an Endodontist, and she is in sales and marketing.  Now they have found each other and are ready to begin their lives together.  I think the ceremony will be next year, as they are planning some sort of destination wedding.  Thankfully, this gives me plenty of time to reach my goal and tone up!

I couldn't be happier for my son.  Nikki is a gorgeous girl and treats him like a king.  What more could a mother ask for?  I can only imagine how beautiful their babies are going to be!

Nikki's mom is planning an engagement party in Dana Point, CA the end of March.  I can't wait!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hi, My Name Is Vickie, and I am Addicted To Shoes.

Some of my new heels
Now that I can "comfortably" ( okay, don't lie about heels not hurting your feet ) wear heels again, I have indulged myself.  All of these shoes were no more than $25 with the exception of the black pair on the far left for $39.  They all have the platform, which does help immensely with my toe joint pain...ugh!

I cannot wait for the weather to warm up and I can wear my new dresses and skirts and rock those heels!

Hope you all have a great Superbowl Sunday!

I got it this time!

February, 2011
August 2009, with my sisters.
I'll admit, I am a bit computer challenged, but where there's a will there's a way!  This is my business card photo.  I am very happy with it.

My sister just showed me this picture the other day and it made me cry.  I was 245 pounds then.  This was a mini family reunion and I was absolutely miserable and humiliated.  The last thing I wanted to do was have my picture taken.  I looked and felt like a big fat, hot mess.  Needless to say, I do not want to be that person again.

I feel like I have a new and exciting lease on life and I am so grateful.

Thanks everyone!

I give up!

For the last 2 days I have tried to post my new work picture without any luck.  I will try to figure it all out as best I can.  I'm sure I will be able to post it at some point.

Thanks ladies!
