S.T.A.R.V.I.N.G.

Why is it when I get a much needed fill, I am starving for a couple of days?  What gives?  I am eating less food, and drinking more water....but effing starving!  This happens to me everytime I get a fill.  After a few days, the hunger subsides and I am fine.  Maybe it takes a little while for my fill to kick in or something.  After 14 months since surgery, you would think I might have this figured out!

It's too late to eat something, so I am going to bed hungry, AGAIN!!!!

Night all,

  1. I'm not sure, but something Ronnie said once made sense to me. When the Dr pulls the fluid out of the band before inserting the new, it sorta seems like the fluid redistributes or something. That could be part of it.

  3. Vickie... re-read your third sentence. You are eating less food and starving. Well... duh! Your stomach may be satiated with less food but your metabolic system might not be! :) (I just spent the past two days with pediatric MDs and have been steeped it logic and physiology so your third sentence really jumped out at me with its logic!!!)

  4. I am starving all the time recently. But I think I will get a fill this week if I can get in there. So I am going to see if I get REALLY hungry afterwards.

  6. I think you just said it: when you get a fill, you eat LESS while the fill kicks in.. so the band isn't totally helping yet, and you're just restricting your food ... hang in there, you'll get there.

  8. Hi Vicki, thanks for the follow and sweet comment. I love your blog design. I know right now you might be struggling but the struggle makes the vicotry all that more victorious. Hang in there. This too will pass.
