We Made It!

John and I had a great time this morning.  He ran ahead of me and finished in 37 minutes.  After mile 2, I was at 29 minutes-cause I ran most of the way, but I did walk some too.  Sad thing is the walkers were walking faster than I was running!  Anyway, at least I wasn't last  :)

1st Official 5K

Tomorrow, John and I will be participating in Run for the Reef 5K.  He will most likely run the whole way, and I plan to run as much of it as I can. 

It is so weird that I love the idea of runnimg, but I really hate it!  I guess the thought of burning those ice cream calories in a short amount of time is very appealing to me!  I do enjoy power walking though.  We will have perfect weather and most important is the time we will spend together getting healthy.

5 K Over The Bridge

I had to miss my B3 clas this morning due to work issues.  B3 is Barbells, Kettle Bells and Bands.  I was pretty bummed, but decided to do a 5K walk/run over the bridge after work today.  It was 80 degrees and absolutely beautiful!  John and I are signed up for the Run To The Reef 5 K next weekend and I am not ready!  I will try to run as much as I can but I know I will walk quite a bit.   Either way, I will be movin' it!

This first picture is from my son Jonathons' wedding on 6/16/2012 and the second is from my other son Marcus' wedding on 9/1/2012.  This is the reason why I had to miss Chicago this year!


We had such a great time with our family and I felt pretty comfortable with myself.  I am already looking forward to BOOBS 4!

Why I love Kettle Bells ♥

Before:  After!  In about 35 minutes, my heart rate is soaring and I feel so good.  I try to go to this class 3 times a week and on Saturday, it is on the beach!  Photo: Kettlebells @ The Beach.  That is me in the pink dragging a 28 pound kettle bell through the sand.  I love to hate this class and the girl in the green is our kick ass instructor, Ashley.  I ♥ her so much for yelling at me to keep going!

Missing In Action !!!!

It's only been 5 months.  That is pretty bad.  Sorry.  Life has been very busy, and sometimes I just don't know what to write about.
My weight has been the same for a year and a half now.  No matter how much I exercise, it stays the same.  I am doing Kettle Bells, Cross Train, Kick Boxing, Circuit Training and Zumba.  Now, I have signed up for a 5K in October and will begin the C25K training next week.  Maybe that will get some weight off.
Except for my hanging skin and belly fat, I am quite comfortable.  I wear a size 10-12 and I feel wonderful!

I was in a bad car accident in March and am still having issues with my knee.  It is still numb in places and will hurt with any pressure on it, but I can still workout.

Number 3 son got married in June.  We went to Phoenix for it and I was able to wear a strapless dress!  I did feel pretty good  :)

Number 2 son is getting married in September this year.  We will travel to Santa Fe for that.  I have a very nice spaghetti strap dress and I am so excited!

I am so happy I got my band, and I would do it again in a heartbeat.  It is so nice to not be the fattest person in the room.  I was in Orange County, CA last week for the bridal shower.  I most certainly would have been the fattest woman there had it not been for my band.

I will try to keep up with all of you.  I just need to make the time and I miss you!

Ahhh, Kettle Bells ♥

Let me tell you my love for Kettle Bells!  I have been going 3x a week for 2 months now and I feel so strong!  The first day was great and I could not sit to go pee without pain for 3 days! I started with an eight pound eight and now I use 15-25 pound bells. Our instructor is so inspiring and encouraging.  I feel so blessed.   Now, I endure bruises on my arms from holding the bells and doing squats.  A little makeup should cover those up when I have a sleeveless dress.

I have not lost a blasted pound, but I have lost inches.  That's okay cause I feel like a lean muscle machine.  I still walk my dogs every morning, do Zumba and kick boxing.  I am at the Studio 5 days a week.  I sleep like the dead most nights.

This Saturday we start doing our class at the beach!  No shoes or weight gloves and lots of throwing the weights in the sand.  John will be joining me when he gets home next week.  Zumba is right after that!

I just can't believe I have been exercising for 2 years now.  I was the queen of couch potatoes!  I actually decline dinner out with friends so I don't miss an exercise class...whaaaaaat?  It's the new me ladies, and I like it.

I have two sons getting married this summer and I want to look especially fit.  My husband has started saying things like "you are beautiful, gorgeous, and hot."  This just makes me want to keep going.

Okay, I suck!

I know.  I don't know why it takes me so long to write a post.  I guess just thinking about all the stuff that is on my mind makes me tired to type!  I do miss everyone though  :)

Anyway, Hawaii during the holidays was awesome!  John and I had a chance to reconnect and actually have a few weeks together.  The weather was perfect, the resort was gorgeous and we had a wonderful time.

We exercised everyday too!  We walked/ran a 3 mile loop by the hotel each day and hiked one day too.  I stayed the same with my weight, so I am not complaining!

Anyway, I have 2 sons getting married this year!   One in June in AZ and the other in Sepember in N.M.  Lots to do and lots of money to come up with.  I am very excited about them both.  I already have my dresses....just need shoes.

I have been on a workout high these past few weeks.  I walk my dogs everyday for at least 30 minutes, then I go to Kettle Bells 3 x a week.  I will go to a Zumba class about 2-3 times a week and also Balle Barre and Kickboxing.  I freakin' love it!  I really love Kettle Bells.  I am up to a 20 pound bell now.  It is only a 30 minute class but I am soaked with sweat and my face is beet red for several hours afterward.  I am feeling strong and happy.  I am by myself quite a bit due to John having to travel, so it does wonders for me.

I have lost about 2 pounds the past 2 weeks.  I know I lost a few inches too.  My new pants are much more comfortable.  I am really trying to tone up and get stronger.  If I lose weight during thr process...great.  I am trying not to get hung up on the numbers....trying, I said!

I have missed you all and will be much better with reading blogs and posting.
